gnf56@aol.com Author Biographyprofessor, taught at the University of Virginia. His research area covers the Holocaust, the reconstruction of Jewish life after the Holocaust, and the post-war justice system. In recent years, together with Alexander V. Prusin, he published Justice Behind the Curtain: Nazis on Trial in Communist Poland (2018); he co-edited the volume Jewish Honor Courts: Revenge, Retribution, and Reconciliation after the Holocaust (2015) with Laura Jockusch, and with David Slucki and Avinoam Pattem Laughter After: Humor and the Holocaust (2020). He is currently writing two books: one on the post-war honorary court (Social Court) of the Central Committee of Jews in Poland; the second is a series of conversations with Shimon Redlich, who survived as a child in Poland, about his life and observations from the 1950s until today.
